The Top 20 Marketing WordPress Plugins for Business
Yoast SEO
Any list that doesn’t have Yoast SEO at the top of the list for WordPress marketing plugins is wasting your time. Yoast SEO provides you with a detailed account of on-page SEO for every web page you publish. The best part is that it’s free.
It doesn’t matter if you’re an avid blogger, selling software, or promoting a physical product, the way you write about your content is essential to the growing the traffic on your website. Without correct formatting and using the right keywords your business will stay a needle in a haystack.
Yoast SEO shows you word counts, keyword density, missing alt text, SEO titles, meta descriptions and so much more. It will tell you if you’re using your headings incorrectly and even help you make your content more readable. Just install it in minutes and start writing. Yoast will tell you what you need to change to help you rank higher on Google’s SERP.
Smush Image Compressor
Go to GTMetrix.com and test your web page speed right now. Go ahead. I’ll wait for you to come back.
What did it say about your images?
If you’re not compressing your images on your web page you need to do that right now. Install the Smush Image Compressor plugin, and start “smushing” each image on your website. Then run the GTMetrix test again and you should be fine.
Now, that you have every image on your website compressed, you don’t have to worry about doing this anymore. Every image that is added to your website will be automatically compressed and won’t hurt your page loading speed anymore.
SEMrush Writing Assistant
I’m a big fan of targeting keywords I can rank on Google. Without the right plugins and tools, that can be pretty difficult, so I recommend spending some money on SEMrush.com.
SEMrush is a great tool for any business marketing online. If you’re looking to see whether or not your business is doing well against your competition or to see if there is anything technically wrong with your website. SEMrush is a great place to start.
It can be a little pricey, but you should be able to 10x your investment if you learn it and link it with your WordPress site.
OptinMonster
One of the biggest mistakes I see websites doing is not collecting their customer’s information when they get on the website. If you sell products or services, your customers will need to be followed up with many times in order to create enough of an impact to get them to buy your products more than once, if at all.
OptinMonster helps you create those opportunities by adding opt-in boxes to each of your pages. This creates “gated” content, which means you give your traffic amazingly useful pieces of content in exchange for their information or the opportunity to inform them of additional content, product releases, and more.
MailChimp
After you get OptinMonster, get MailChimp, to email your customers you collect from your opt-ins. MailChimp is a great platform to email your subscribers and potential customers and there is plenty of information on how to make the most of it. Scour the internet for tutorials and you’ll find out how to optimize your lead generation from your website.

Some of the ugliest places on a website are the headers and footers on a website. Use “Insert Headers and Footers” plugin to ensure you’re making the most out of them.

How to Implement WordPress Plugins
Here is a word to the wise…
Do not go and install all these plugins all at once. You need to make sure you properly set them up and understand why you’re doing what you’re doing. If you rush into installing plugins, you might have more problems than you bargained for. My advice is to install one at a time and spend some time using them to find the ones that work for you.
You do not need all of them to have a successful website, you just to slowly learn what your website needs.
Try and start with the top plugins, and then install the design plugins like Beaver Builder and Elementor. The design of your website should come after you make sure you’re able to attract traffic and scale to new heights.
